Welcome to homecoming

Origins

 

Every country and every culture has its own traditional celebrations and festivities. Many of these celebrations have existed for centuries and have been passed down and observed, even when people have forgotten the original reason for the event. Homecoming is a tradition in many universities, colleges and high schools in North America. It usually includes activities for alumni and students, such as sports and culture events and a parade through the streets of the city or town.

 

In United States, it is an annual traditional celebration takes its place in late September or early October. People in town or city, students in high school and colleges come together to welcome back former residents and alumni. It is a time when alumni from high schools and colleges around the country return to their alma masters to reconnect with people, places and traditions.

There will be some central event for celebrating, such as a banquet, more often, a game of American football, or on occasion, basketball or ice hockey. When it is celebrated by schools, the activities will be very widely. They consist of a football game played on school’s home football field, a parade featuring for the school’s marching band and sport teams, and most important, the coronation of Homecoming Queen and Homecoming King.
  
With the tradition, Sometimes, A big announcement to crowned Homecoming Queen and King comes at a pep rally, school assembly or public ceremony one or more days before the game. Other schools crown their royalty at the Homecoming football game, a dance or other school events. Often, the previous year’s Queen and King are invited back to crown their successors.
  

0n a parade, Students often select the grand marshal based on his or her service and support to the school or community. The parade includes the school's marching band and different school organizations floats created by the classes and organizations and most of the sports get a chance to be in the parade and show off their fierceness! Every class prepares a float which corresponds with the Homecoming theme. In addition, the Homecoming Court takes part in the parade, often riding together in one or more convertibles as part of the parade.
  
 

The homecoming dance, in many ways, it is a fall prom. At high school, some teens attend the dance with dates and some attend in group.
  

Going to homecoming is so much fun when old friends, alumni, and former residents come to the town.
